Who Pays for Physiotherapy Treatment? - · In the public service treatment is free following referral from a consultant or a GP. You will have to go on a waiting list.
- · In Private Practice you must pay for your own treatment. All appointments MUST be paid for on the day
- · If a Third Party is paying for your treatment you MUST have written confirmation from said party, and relevant contact details. The third party MUST contact the clinic prior to your visit.
There is no standard fee in private practice due to competition authority

In addition to the above, tax relief may be obtained on physiotherapy fees in excess of €100. This is done by completing a Med I form at the end of the tax year and submitting it to the Revenue Commissioners.
