  • Schroth Scoliosis Course taught by the ISST. This was a 2 week course in Perth, Auustralia, enabling Theresa to treat children adolescents and adults with scoliosis
  • Shockwave Therapy Course – this weekend course was invaluable in teaching the huge value of this latest physiotherapy electrotherapy tool – extremely useful for chronic injuries and plantar fasciitis.
  • 2 Weekend courses on ultrasonic imaging for the purposes of biofeedback, with main emphasis on the recruitmant of the Core stability muscles – transversus abdominus and multividi – the main support system for the body.
  • Myofascial Trigger Point Deep Dry Needling – studied through the David G Simons Academy of Switzerland. Course given by Christian Grobli and Jan Dommerholt
  • Deep Dry needling annual study days, safety in Deep dry needling and  pneumothroax prevention study days and webinars, to keep abreast with developments in this area.
  • Practical Biomechanics – Several Advanced courses in the assessment of the biomechanical function of the body in relation to the provision of corrective orthotic devices and exercises. Courses given by Gillian Walker, Langer orthotic company, and several by Podiatry Products
  • Myofascial Trigger Point Release using manual techniques – course by Johnson McEvoy
  • Cyriax Orthopaedic medicine courses A,B and C and examinations allowing membership of the Society of Orthopaedic Medicine
  • McKenzie A and B – Mechanical diagnosis and therapy for Cervical, Thoracic and Lumbar Spine using the well reknown theories and techniques of Robin McKenzie
  • Core Stability for trunk and Pelvis – several courses by David Fitzgerald
  • Shoulder Rehabilitation courses, both for the sporting shoulder and adult hemiplegic shoulder. Regular updates from some of the main orthopaedic hospitals in Dublin, Waterford and Cork to keep abreast of developments in the orthopaedic world
  • Bobath Courses in the treatment of neurological patients, both introductory and advanced courses in adult hemiplegia management and paediatric neurological rehabilitation.
  • Sensory integration dysfunction courses in the theory, assessment, diagnosis and treatment of sensory integration difficulties relating to children with sensory and motor issues
  • International, multi-disciplinary, conference on acquired brian injury (England)
  • CPR and first aid courses including the use of AED
  • Gross Motor Function assessment techniques for children
  • McConnell taping and knee rehabilitation courses and updates on developments in the orthopaedic world relating to knee injuries and surgeries
  • Study weekend into advances in Anterior cruciate repair and rehabilitation
  • Muscle Energy techniques in the treatment of hip, pelvis and lumbar dysfunction
  • Repetitive Strain Injury in relation to the upper limb
  • Adverse neural tension in respect of the lower and upper limbs
  • Several electrotherapy courses including laser, ultrasound and interferential therapy courses
  • Intramuscular stimulation course for use with Deep Dry needling techniques
  • Weekend course in incomplete spinal injury management
  • Proprioeptive neurological facilitation weekend course
  • Several study days on sports injuries, treatment of burns, relaxation techniques, practical splinting
  • Several courses and conferences on cystic fibrosis including  an international conference in this area.
  • Post Covid complications and rehabilitation – series of lectures organised by the CPPP
  • Posture and Bra fitting course in relation to breast protection and care
  • Member of IOFAS – the Irish Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle group of surgeons and physiotherapists with a special interest in feet, attend several conferences and online lectures in this field

  • Guest speaker at 2 national conferences on Cystic Fibrosis
  • Lecture on the management of the Hemiplegic foot at national Chiropodists and podiatrists conference
  • Annual Lectures on Flexibility, stretching and core stability to GAA coaches in Leinster – Carlow, Laois and Kilkenny
  • Speaker on Stretching and Core Stability at the National GAA conference in Kildare in 2007
  • Talk on Biomechanics and orthotics to the GP group in Kilkenny
  • Talk on  Pitch side Physiotherapy to the South Eastern branch of the ISCP in Waterford at annual study day.
  • Several talks to the Headway Ireland group in Cork after being 1 of the founders of the same group.
  • Talk on basic handling and physiotherapy approach to children with disabilities, given to mature students doing a child care course.
  • Regular lectures, to transition year students in several schools, on back care, flexibility and core stability
  • Talks to National schools on looking after your back
  • Several talks to GAA clubs on flexibity and correct stretching techniques
  • Annual talk at DJ Carey School of Hurling on correct stretching techniques back in the 1990s
  • Regular talks to voluntary organisations such as Arthritis Ireland, MS Society, scouts groups
